Hi just wondering if there is a website with some information on starting a camera/photography club?

Assuming you do not currently have a camera club near you, I would suggest you contact local state body - I found this site here http://www.photographynsw.org.au/index.html or contact APS here http://www.a-p-s.org.au/index.php

I am sure they would be happy to point you in the right direction.

Also there is a member here who has recently done a similar thing overseas.

I personally think AP is the best "camera club" :th3:

Fair enough - hopefully those guys will be able to provide some resources - if you hit any brick walls, let me know.

Paul, although internet forums have their value, IMO they are certainly not 'camera clubs'.
The two both offer unique experiences for people, and both have their places. :)

I emailed both those websites and still have not come up with any info, so if anyone is a part of a photography club could you please pass on any info you have regarding the start up and procedures of a photography club.

G'day learning

You could try the Aust Photographic Society for info ...
(From the Aust Photography magazine... )
Secretary:- Melinda Finnigan, PO Box 189 Belmont, Vic 3216
email:- secretary@a-p-s.org.au
website:- www.a-p-s.org.au

Also ~ a few years ago, Kodak (in Coburg, Melb) had a User Services branch which produced pamphlets for us photogaphers, and one was entitled "starting a camera club"
Whether Kodak still have such things I don't know, but you might like to explore this path.

Regards, Phil

Hello learn2shoot, if you go to http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/Cooperatives_and_associations/Associations.html you can access heaps of info about becoming an Incorporated Association. :)

The FCC of NSW is the correct body to contact as indicated above, having personal knowledge of all involved I would suggest contacting the secretary or treasurer if you are after a quick answer rather than the president.
