This short film is not to be missed.

Photographers of Australia reviews the 60-year careers of three great Australian Photographers: Max Dupain, Wolfgang Sievers, and David Moore. All three appear in the film, talking about their work. Mostly you hear the voice of the photographer while you see a feast of great shots of all kinds: gripping photo-journalisim; magnificent industrial photography, wonderful landscapes, compelling documentary work, and much more. It demonstrates the enormous power photography can have if the eye behind the camera has the vision and the drive and the imagination.

You can watch it on-line at any time over the next few weeks - but watch it now, because you will want to see this one again. Go to http://www.abc.net.au/iview/ and click on "ABC Arts". (Broadband connection required - the entire film will add just 210MB to your monthly bandwidth.)

I repeat: not to be missed.

I came across this thread and 45 mins later get to reply...........

My main thoughts while watching ran along the lines of just wanting to hook up the camper and go.
Not, as some may think to become famous, but to just be in my world where I feel most at home, the open plains and photographing the journey.

Another thought crossed the mind and one that I often think about, why do I get more out of someone else interpretations than I do of my own.

Edited to add, Thanks for the link, I enjoyed very much the journey that I traveled in those 42 Minutes.

Really good stuff. Great photos, and an insight into the vision of the (rather likeable) men who took them.

Excellent, missed this the last time it showed so will make sure I don't miss this again.

I do love movies like this, and I am sure this movie will be brilliant.

Thanks Tony, I saw this a few years ago on TV and would like to see it again.

One of our newer AP members is a cousin of Max Dupain and she hasn't seen this show either so I have forwarded the link.

They have been having some problems for a few weeks now, it's not Photographers of Australia, it's the entire iview site. It comes and goes a bit. Apparently they keep saying they have fixed it now, but they haven't. Presumably some tech-head is standing in his bosses office being shouted at right now. He bloody ought to be, the iview outages are getting really tedious.

Just try again every now and again, it does come back.

Sadly, not being in Australia means "for copyright reasons" I cannot view this show. Too Bad!

Being Australian, you are welcome to join us in viewing the show, I believe there are some good deals to be had on Qantas airfares at the moment :food04:
