Well last night after discussions with my beautiful wife, I got to order an early B'day (DEC) present from Japan.
I have ordered a Near Mint (According to their personal opinion) Pentax 67 Medium Format Camera with a 90mm F2.8 lens (Equivalent to 45mm in 35mm format).

It should be here mid December. To say I am excited is an understatement, and I am looking at ordering some Kodak Porta 120 film in the near future.

Well the camera arrived today and it is in excellent condition, I am just waiting on some 120 film to arrive and then I can do a trial run on my next days off.

Ah, you crazy kids and your film cameras. ;) Hope it give you joy.

I've been watching Thomas Heaten videos lately (he's going through a mad film phase at the moment in the latest videos I'm watching) thinking, young man, you are a wonderful photographer, but why on earth are you doing this to yourself?? lol, but good luck to you. Hope it's everything you hope it will be. :)

I do all my own printing at home and plan on doing my own developing and scanning soon aswell. I guess it's just the artist in me wanting to be more creative...

First roll of film to go in the P67 is this. I am interested to see how it renders the Goldfields landscape. But first are 10 test shots around town to ensure there are zero light leaks.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201201/dc1cddb427ebaf295bd844f184249536.jpg

Ok so I got my jpegs back from the Lab of my Pentax 67 test shots, low resolution scans. The negatives are being delivered to me.

I am very happy with them, I have noticed a line on the top of the film, hopefully this is from the scanning and not the camera. I will confirm once the negs get here.

All images are using Kodak Portra 160 (120MF), and using the internal exposure meter ETTR.

Please let me know your thoughts, these are also all unedited from the lab. Once I get the originals I will rescan them at a higher resolution and post the results.

Hi, I ended up going out taking some photos on my Pentax 67. Here are some images on my digital cameras while I wait for the film to be developed.

These were taken with my Mobile Phone. Unfortunately downsized to 6000 pixels compared to the 12000 from flickr.

Good stuff - pretty good DOF control there for a 'new to you' camera.

You think a lot more before taking a photo on film than you do on digital eh!

Scot enjoyed these photos, the Pentax 67 with film can be pretty sharp in your capable hands. Have wondered about using some 120 film in a Bronica ETRSi camera purchased recently, need to check the shutter speeds are correct first. Notice the Pentax 67 has a 1000th second shutter speed the Bronica ETRSi goes to a 500th of a second limiting the range of apertures that may be used on a sunny day though do have ND and polarizing filters available so not the end of the world for landscapes or portraits. That is a great looking Gitzo tripod too for use with your Pentax camera looking very impressive.
Particularly like the rusted car series of photos especially the last photo being remarkable for the depth of focus and rich colours achieved.

Cheers

Nick

That's a pretty cool piece of kit. Will have to get one of these.

That's a pretty cool piece of kit. Will have to get one of these.I will be testing it out next week. Just need to work out a good easy way to mount my camera. Most likely a spare tripod. And will use various lighting solutions from old phones to iPad.

I found some cheap LED outdoor/work lights at Bunnings recently, which might work well.

Back to the photos that second rusted car one - looking through the windscreen from essentially the drivers position is a ripper !
Has commercial potential i think.
