An ART series 1.4 no less and coming in at a whopping 20mm for full frame cameras.

Pre-orders at $899 USD - very reasonable.

Looks like no filter thread and a very bulbous front element. Possibly fixed hood too.

Swifty. That's interesting. "Art" lenses by Σ sure have eked out a name for themselves.
Two things I find disturbing: how 20mm on a FF can be considered "ultra"-wide, and what the heck "pre-order"
means that's different from "order".

As you can see from the design of the lens Am .. 20mm on full frame is quite difficult to do .. and to include an f/1.4 aperture.
Look at even a 24mm f/1.4 lens and the lens is no where near as large and heavy by comparison.

Ultra wide isn't too far off as an accurate description.

I reckon ultra wide on a FF format would be somewhere in the region of 10-20mm or so, where 21-35(0r so) becomes simply wide .. or something like that.
(of course there are no hard and fast rules here .. only what the observer thinks is right).

The price of this thing is amazing .. I need one of these too now! :p

Kudos to Sigma for pushing the envelope again.
I know this is just abit faster than a 20/1.8G but 1.4 at 20mm is still amazing to me.
Really looking forward to it, could just be my next lens purchase.
