BTW I object to FF as a term as Pentax already have a Medium Format 645 series of cameras and since when is Full less than Medium?

Mongo hates teasers and rumours ! they should just get on with it if they are going to. Mrs Mongo has been waiting long enough !!

BTW anything more than about 24 megapixels is probably too much

Hehehe... got ya covered on this one, Kym. I think I'd rather have a full middy of beer than a medium pint any day! Of course if all you've got is (yech) West End, then I guess medium is always gonna be better. :lol2:

No, we sell that to people with no taste, eg. interstaters etc.

More rumors...

http://photorumors.com/2015/10/13/more-pentax-full-frame-dslr-camera-rumors/

A Xitek forum member claims that he had beta tested the upcoming Pentax full frame DSLR camera. Here are few details:

The new camera is not 42MP (I also reported 36MP)
The AF is very fast
"There are many AF points than ever"
SR (Super-Resolution) mode now works handheld and the results are pretty good
Overall, better experience than the Nikon D810

http://photorumors.com/2015/10/15/new-slide-leaked-with-pentax-full-frame-dslr-camera-details/

received this new leaked slide (click for larger view) describing some of the main features of the upcoming Pentax full frame DSLR camera:

36M full frame sensor without AA filter (previously reported) << Likely I think
5 axis shake reduction
645 lens adapter << Kool!!
SR (Super-Resolution) mode
Diffraction correction
x0.78 large finder
PRIME IV 14 bit processor based on PRIME M2

The 645 lens adapter means there is a MUCH bigger range of glass

There are some new pics of the new Pentax FF here http://www.adorama.com/alc/8328/article/photo-plus-2015-first-glimpse-pentax-full-frame-dslr, looks like reliable stuff this time.

Cheers,
Terry

Oh man .. I shouldn't have read that!

Now I'm fighting over whether to get a car or spend the $16K, I don't have on the 645Z starter kit! :p

ps. the camera is looking good. I hope it does well for the big 'P' brand. I still admire the stuff they used to make(mainly the M42 gear) and have always had a soft spot for the brand.

Me either. :o

With price reductions like that it is becoming even more droolworthy.

Cannot wait to see this, I may need to invest in more Full frame lenses. Articulated screen is a positive.

I have bought a couple of FA limiteds lately...sweet lenses and while I think I'll be happy with my K3s for quite a while yet, I must admit that all this hype is a little contagious.

Can't wait to see what the FF ends up looking like - the extra dials that might allow so much control on the fly without reverting to menus are very attractive indeed. It will likely be a purely academic process, but fun nonetheless.

Bring on the FF:th3: :plogo:

....I have the other two of the three amigos: the 31 and the 77. I will complete the trilogy with the FA43 very soon....maybe even this week.
