I'm interested in knowing if any Olympus OM-D EM-1/5/10 users have encountered green blotches on the evf after exposure to sunlight? I just came across this issue before buying one. Apparently it happens if the diopter is set to a certain position.

Hi Leanne, +6 I believe is the bad one, mine is set at +3 and I have no problems after 8 months or so, and I have never taken particular care to avoid it. Some believe it is not actually the evf but a coating on it that burns kind of like when using a magnifying glass to start a fire. I guess the best way to avoid it is to get used to using your glasses (if you need them) while shooting, not something I like having to do myself.

thanks David. Good to know you have had no problems. I was about to buy the camera while the cash back was still on offer then chickened out when I read about the issue.

I have not had any problem with any aspect of the camera. Thinking of buying one - As Nike says "Just Do it!"

NO system is perfect! however I can easily live with the limitations of the EM1, the only issue I can say is the evf is not so good ( compared to ovf) for following high speed action in continuous shooting mode6.5fps, at 10 fps it is ok but caf doesn't work at 10fps only saf does, not a big deal unless you are a bif specialist, cars and bikes are ok once you get the hang of it.
For me the positives of the evf out weight the negatives, e.g live view boost so you can see what your shooting even in the dark, picture review aka chimping is awesome through the evf, live wysiwyg adjustments with exposure etc, focus magnification, you can magnify your focus target by 8 times to get critical focus perfect.
I could go on but the evf is what you asked about specifically here.

Well I did it....I went into the shop today and ordered the em-1 pro kit. Just in time to get the $300 cashback offer from Olympus. I'm excited.
