I thought I would troll the Sony thread to see what was there but most of the posts are very old so...... do not just move on start a thread

After almost 5 years of shooting with the A700 and being rather wary of the EVF, the lure of full frame finally got me and I bought an A99 in January this year.
And now I am a convert to EVF and would never go back.

I still am not fully comfortable with rapid switching between the various options but the feature that has me rapt is focus peaking.

When in manual focus the EVF (both the eyepiece and the monitor) show a coloured highlight of the areas in sharp focus.
Sop if you are shooting a macro and looking to stack the images- as you move through the scene the highlighted areas change. The colour is also customisable from white/red/yellow.

My eye sight is not what it used to be and this feature is fantastic.
I think some of the other smaller brands have a similar feature?

I'm not sure about other brands.. but I know that the Sony NEX cameras have focus peaking.
