Could anyone point me in the right direction on where to get a decent sized paper roll background setup? I'm after the roll (either white paper or grey), 3 meters wide or there abouts with the adjustable pole stands. I've found a few on line a while ago but I cant imagine getting something so large and fairly heavy sent via courier. I'm in SA and am hoping there is somewhere around here that I could get one from.

Thanks in advance.

Mick.

Mick, partly blame the net on the demise of retailers that USED TO BE ABLE to supply exactly whet you are after. Quality Cameras in Perth was my preferred choice for paper and so forth with EASY courier deliveries to Vic,
Maybe have a look at Vanbar (http://vanbarphoto.com.au/) in Melb, they stock a range of paper and so forth.

Are you talking about "seamless"?

Cheers Andrew. I'll check em out now :-)

Yea Cass, I believe its know as seemless. I'd hope to be able to roll it out, use it and roll it back up but I'd imagine after a use or two it'd start getting pretty dirty.

Mick,

Photo Studio in Sydney, he is an ebay seller and stocks the excellent Savage range. He has White, Black, several shades of Grey among most other colours.
I think he will ship throughout Australia, but at what cost you would need to ask him. I buy my paper in the store from him, he also sells a telescopic background bar, I bought 2 for the 2.7M wide rolls and they don't bend. They are $35 each.

Here is one setup in my studio;

Cheers Andrew. I've bookmarked Vanbar and found the gear. Paper was reasonably priced at around $120. I was a bit surprised at the price of the stand. Them being around the $270. Still, thats what I'm after. Cheers for the info :):)

Ah ha, cheers Wayne. Thats a great sized studio you've got there. I've just had a look at the Sydney guy and his gear seems to be cheaper still. Thanks for that. Its just what I'm after. I'll be placing an order once I get back to work to top up the bank balance (holidays are great but the pay is pretty ordinary :D).

If you want Avenger/Manfrotto stands Mick, don't get ripped off at Vanbar et al, let me know and I will point you in the right direction to get them from the USA. The large silver and large black stands you see in the studio image are all the exact same stand design from Avenger, 2x Black are aluminium and weigh 4kg each, the others are steel and weigh 8kg each with all other specs identical.

I shipped them here in pairs from the USA and you get 2 from there for the same price as 1 from here, and the freight, even on the 8kg stands was only $110 for the pair and no GST as <AUD$1K
