It would be great if they sold winning lottery tickets to go with it and some one to carry it round for you.

Once again it is funny how the eyes and brain interact when reading posts, I'm still unsure if you want that lens to photograph the moon, photograph people from the moon or to photograph people mooning you.

I was meaning photographing people from such distances as the moon for "candid portraits" but the last option is hilarious!

You are on ---- I will buy you the lens ( you are a Nikon user? :p ) if you guarantee to provide a picture of a world leader such as Barrack or Juliar ( taken from the moon ) baring their bums in total disrespect of popular opinion polls about their leadership.

Isn't what they do every day anyway?

But provided you buy the lens, i will find a way to get that shot :th3:

What I want to know is why would you use an 800mm lens to photograph crickets?

:D

Why stop at 800. Why not invest in one of Nikon's stunning lenses. The 1200-1700 (http://www.nikon.com/about/feelnikon/recollections/r16_e/index.htm)

Why not, but with the same budget you can get ONE 1200-1700 or this lot :

1x 800 VR,
1x 600 VR,
1x 500 VR,
1x 400 VR,
1x 300/2.8 VRII,
1x 200/2 VRII,
1x D4,
and 1x D800. :):):)

The camera on the end of that trombone just looks like an afterthought!
