Hi All,

Ive seen a few posts here regarding image copyright and misuse.

We are in the midst of launching an Australian stock photography company. One feature we are considering developing in the near future is a copyright tracking feature (Maybe a subscription option).

Would a monthly report of where your image has been used be of value?

If there was enough interest I would consider offering this feature to photographers even if they were not listing Australian stock images at Image To You.

Let me know if this is something that is of any interest.

Matt, there is already a tracking system out there, that like all systems of tracking photos is not perfect, cause if someone wants to there are ways to get a copy easily enough. But check out www.tineye.com (http://www.tineye.com), you might be able to use one of their add-ons, rather than developing your own.

There is no completely safe way to put photos on the net.

Regarding reporting, I reckon members of your site would love to know a bit about how many views their stock had etc, though if you give to much detail away in the report, you might find some go direct to the company that is buying their stock and offer them an 'off-site' deal, thus bypassing your site. So it would be a balancing act.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your feedback.

Ive had a look at Tin Eye (and a couple of others), they are definitely an option that I could use to do the "heavy" lifting of recognition. Then work on making it a solution that would work seamlessly with Image To You users.

Your point on reporting is an interesting one. Image To You users can track how many hits / sales they have received of each image they list. Im hoping the fact that we are really aiming to give the photographers the lions share of the sale price (75% normally and 80% if you sign up now) and this will reduce the incentive to go direct.

We really apprecaite the feedback! Cheers.

Doesn't do batch images though. I tested a couple of images of mine I've used for forum avatars etc. Tracked each one. Not 100% perfect though.
