Hi all,

With this meet we should easily be finished and be back with your loved ones by 8am.

Sunday weather reports to be a day with early cloud which ought to make for a nice sunrise.

I propose we meet at the nearby car park on the Esplanade Mt Pleasant (at the boat ramp near between Bateman Rd & Park Rd) at 5:30am to set up and shoot the sunrise which will occur at 6:23AM. Shooting will occur around the Jetty in that area.

You may arrive later if you choose. There are BBQ facilities and I will bring some cooking gear so you can make a cooked breakfast if you choose.

If you need a Google Earth Marker Point please PM me with your email address and I will email it to you.

PM me if you are coming!

Hope to see you there!

Not sure if I will be able to make it, possible.
One thing to be aware of.....you are not allowed to walk on the jetty and it is coned/taped off, so need to consider that with composition....
You can see what I mean in this (http://janetwoollard.com/media/fight-save-deep-water-point-jetty) link

Seems like it's not quite the right timing - unfortunately I will be on a men's training this weekend (and next as well).

After that would be fine.

Thanks Mibs, I'm aware of the netting etc. Walking on in would be at the individuals risk.

I'm pretty sure we can omit the netting in the composition.

There is no set date for demolition, but it's going to happen.

Good to see lots of interest and the PM distribution is working well!

I'll be there regardless, have always wanted to shoot these jetties and the AM seems to be the best time.

In a couple of weeks I'll have my Nodal Ninja 3MII and will be heading out again.

Did a quick trip to the jetty today just to have a bit of look at the different compositions and how we can shoot around that orange netting and also the signs which are attached to the jetty.

Think it will be a great morning if there is good light and some nice clouds.

Well it turned out to be a fantastic morning with some pretty nice calm conditions for reflections. Thought I would put up a couple here just to show what it was like for those who couldn't make it (or slept in). :D

Much enjoyed and appreciated.
I hope everyone else felt so.

Well done Sarge. Your captures are much better than what I achieved.

Hi Sarge,

I agree we ought to do this more often. It's pretty easy to organize really. Pick a location at the right time of day and all is good.

I forgot to mention that i liked your compositions and that you caught the light reflecting off the buildings (better than I did!). The only thing I might ask for in the shot is a little (tiny mind you) separation between the rivers far edge and the jetty posts.

I would like to be seeing other threads/images/links in this thread.

Com'on post them!

I would like to do a beach shoot one time, somewhere like Mettams Pool, Trigg or somewhere with some nice rock formations. Also, I reckon Hyde Park (Town of Vincent) would be a great place to go shoot one afternoon especially now, during Autumn!

That Photo Ephemeris looks like a handy tool to have too.

Thanks Wayne, it was only after the morning did I think that I should have left some room between the buildings and those pylons. Oh well, next time.

I might try for something the week after Easter. North Beach/Trigg/Mettams are just down the road from here and I'm keen on that one. Though quite a journey, Araluen would be good to get too as well.

Was good to meet up with some like minded enthusiasts and good to see some good shots from the morning.

Not that happy with the ones I managed to get at 1st look. Hopefully have more time this week to take a closer look at them and will post up anything good I find.

Wife and i would be really interested in future meet ups but will be in Sydney the week after Easter.

I'm very keen to do a beach shoot Wayne, and if your going the week after Easter, I have a week off uni (study break) so could work nicely!?

Beach shoot sounds good to me, and if you do Trigg there is plenty of scope if there's a big group.... :th3:

SOme mice shots from Deep Water Point...you got some great clouds :-)

Wow! My old stomping ground as a kid / teenager ... although I don't remember being up at 5.30am very often

Lovely pics Tim. I like the colour in the second, but the crispness in the first, and the way you can really see the details in the timber of the jetty. I like the crop (less sky) in the first one too).

... can't believe the size of that tower built on top of the Raffles - how did that happen?

Edited to add: Sorry, didn't realise there was a second page to this thread, not meaning to ignore anyone!
